Yeah there should be a way, claim your code was cracked and doesn't work. If your friend who sold you the game still has the code slip take it and call EA, tell them your code doesn't work. They'll probably ask you to read it to them and then they'll be like "that code has already been claimed, did you buy the game second hand" then be like "no, can I get a new one". There you go.
