Modern Warfare 2 hits 25m players !

This from my Facebook Playstation MW2 News source...

The article reads as follows :

"As revealed in a tweet by Infinity Ward's own Robert Bowling, Modern Warfare 2 has surpassed the 25 million unique online players mark. That figure includes all three platforms, with Xbox 360 leading the way, followed by PlayStation 3, and then PC.

There's a theory going around that says some people only purchase videogames from established franchises and avoid new intellectual properties at all costs. MW2 just proved it right -- the direct follow-up is "dominating COD4's numbers," according to Bowling."

Ummm How? Maybe it is a good game and thats why people buy it?

I think most of these extra players got it just because of the hype.
I got it because I realy liked COD4. Hopefully more noobs buy it meaning easier kills.

Sadly it doesn't deserve half the numbers. I just wish Infinity Ward would fix a few issues on CoD4 servers and the game is as good as new, i sometimes ask myself if they know they went wrong..

lol yeah a lot of hype and a lot of attention but i myself got it cuz im a first person shooter fan and of course call of duty fan

I got it as my first COD game, offcourse i had just got the PS3 a few weeks before so i never played COD before ! read reviews, saw videos, did research and than decided to buy the game !

It sold so much because of the ridiculous hype it got.

For all the hype it got I consider the game a failure!

I don't think its a complete failiure, but they realy needed a beta so bad. Compared to COD4 its feels like they tried to make it better, but there just wasn't enough of that polished feeling. It felt a bit rushed. Online doesn't feel as balanced as COD4. I think they tried to hard to get more new p[layers with deathstreaks, and added a bit too many killstreaks.

I think there should be a mode where everyones killstreaks are 3, 5, 7. No death streaks. No noobtubes or comando pro or last stand, or akimbo weapons. That would make the game awsome.

Well it wasn't a complete failure but it did not live up to the hype. I agree about the Beta, I mean sometime it doesn't even look like Infinity Ward tested it with the amount of flaws.

I think they made a right mess with the guns, there all overpowered. I also like the Cod4 versions if the guns better.(Desert Eagle, M16, M4 and escpecially the MP5).

But Hey I would still rather play Mw2 than Halo :p

All assult rifles have too long range, all smg's have too little range and power, all snipers should be 1 hit 1 kill, shotguns should not be a secondary, neither should machine pistols.

Desert Eagle in COD4(amazing) > In MW2 its the same as the magnum, you unlock it so late, I would expect more from it.

true, this is why i don't play every day now, i just play every other day. CANT WAIT FOR THE DLC MAP PACK !

yeah a dlc is needed to freshen things up. as long as they dont have loads of old cod 4 maps in it i wont mind, and if they do then they better change them a bit
