where's the parents in these situations? i ask you that. a 7 year old has no business playing or even watching GTA being played. games can't raise kids....it's the parents job to do that. so i don't blame games at all.....i blame the parents.

When video games come to life...
There`s this kid in my street,I think he was 7 around that time, and he likes GTA.
One day he throws a lit match through an open window of a car. Luckily someone saw it and put the fire out before it could do any serious damage. When they asked him why he did it he said: " I wanted a fire truck and an ambulance to come, just like in GTA."
These are the things that make people say video games are a bad influence. Well, I`ve been playing games for 14 years now, and I never thought about doing something like that.
Anything similar happened near you?

Well said. If you raise your child to behave well even if he plays violent games, it won`t affect him because he`s been though that things like that aren`t right.
Unfortunately this kid`s parents don`t give a crap about him or his sister. A few weeks before that his younger sister got hit buy a car while her mother was drinking a few meters away from where it happened.

That kids needs to be taken away from his parents into an army training camp and sent to fight wars if he likes violence so much.

True, that game nor any other is to blame for this sort of crap. That kid should not have been anywhere near a gta game, & if the parents blame gta then that'd piss me off even more as they're to fault. It just goes to show, games/films have ratings for a reason. Kids & idiotic adults should stay away from such games.

I left home when i was 10 years old to travel around by myself, cause i got the idea from pokemon.
i have seen tons of kids that shouldnt be playing certain games. And im always curious, my 2 younger cousins who are like 8 were given GTA 4 to play, i asked my aunt Why? and she was like its not that bad, and i would tell them they shouldnt be playing it and they would brag that they had it and blah blah blah. I had my aunt sit down while i played it and i showed her.....they got the game taken away......im all for kids playing cool games, but some mature games are a bit mature for just anyone to play

thats why games have ratings, parents should really use that as a guideline

the sad thing is some people want to make jokes and laugh about this but i don't think it's funny one bit. maybe because my first child will be born anyday now, but parents need to take more responsabilty and do their freaking jobs and raise their kids.
this is very true and makes my point stronger. it's all about what the parents let their children be exposed to.....GTA is not one of those things. if my son wants to play games then i will let him, however, i will not let him play games like GTA, Godfather, or any other game along those lines. children have impressionable minds and can be swayed to do things that are very wrong but in their minds they don't know it's wrong.

O YEA THAT REMINDED ME OF SOMETHIN!! remember that kid a couple yrs ago that drowned in the ocean cuz he was lookin 4 Spongebob? see video games rnt the only thing 2 blame. like when Klebold & Harris shot up Columbine; after that, the media wanted 2 know wut games they played & wut music they listened 2. so they dug up the most violent stuff....Doom & Marilyn Manson.

Yes the parents are to blame, not to be rude but little kids are dumb and because of that everything around them influences their behavior. Parents just need to monitor what their kids do and not just sit there and let them do what they want.

parents need to teach their kids some common sense, and also to know the difference between right and wrong. A lot of kids like the spongebob kid probably has an active imagination and thats all well and good....creativity is great with kids. but where were the parents while he was going in the water?
Who lets any child especially an age where they think spongebob is real....near the water alone? I dont care if its the Ocean, i dont give a crap if its only a bathtub, a kid can drown in as little as 5 inches of water....parents should be keeping an eye on their kids....no Babysitting by the TV or anything else.....but man parents these days are nothing like during when i was growing up. Kids are freaking dumb and Rude as hell now a days
