you think you're funny with the spelling comment in your quote don't you?
you fail epicly at trying to be a smart ass and trying to provoke me into a flame war. you're not worth my time.
i tried to have an honest conversation with you and point out why a system would have a part 2 of a game when it didin't have the first one and you try to get all smart ass like you always do. just uncalled for and not cool. now i remember why i roll my eyes when i see your name

Without ME1 there'll be no point to play ME2. It'll be a GOTY candidate but it'll be stupid to have.

Because ME is a story driven IP, meaning without ME1 you'd miss the story of ME2. Xbox user's will be able to transfer their save over to ME2 so that they can continue their individual stories. Without ME1 on PS3 ME2 would be a space shooter with no connection to the user base, at least not the same one 360 users will have

I personally would welcome mass effect 2 to the playstation family and would definitely buy this if it came to the PS3. Mass Effect is one of the best rpgs to come along in awhile besides the well known rpg games, hopefully there's some truth as Bioware already has dragon age running on the PS3.

very valid point.....but what if.......what if they went final fantasy with it and made it to where they previous story didn't have to be played to enjoy the 2ed one. like what if there was a long cut scence at the beginning of the 2nd one explaining all of the first one and that 360 users wouldn't be able to carry over ther saves from the first one? and i'm sure that even some 360 people would play the 2nd one with out playing the 1st one.
i see your point....a very good one.....i was just thinking on a larger scale as far as ps3 starting to take away 360 games. first this....then what.....maybe fable? how cool would that be?

I don't understand why people think ME2 will require you to play ME1. Bioware isn't that stupid.
No company that actually wants to make money on a game will design the game such that you absolutely have to have played the previous games in the series to have any idea what is going on or to get any enjoyment out of the game.
This is all spawning from this thing where ME2 allows you to propagate your Shepard from ME1 into the ME2 universe, so you start from the universe how it was when you left off ME1 instead of the generic start universe... but there still is going to be a generic start point for people who haven't played ME1. People act like a few simple selections at the character creation screen can't negate the entire fact you can import your ME1 game.
Lets also not forget the story in ME1 was self-contained, it didn't end on a cliff-hanger, no loose-ends left, nothing. ME2 will start fresh with a new story arc. No information from ME1 needed to play ME2 is not capable of being contained in a cutscene.
----------
It would be a negative for morons who think that Fable 1 and Fable 2 have anything to do with eachother story-wise. I played Fable 1 AFTER Fable 2, and if you need Fable 1 to enjoy Fable 2, then please stop playing games, you obviously don't actually enjoy them.
The two had NOTHING to do with eachother story-wise. You could play through Fable 2 in its entirety and never be affected by complete ignorance of what happened in Fable 1.
The only thing from Fable 1 that comes into play is the "Guild of Heroes," but its negated by the fact that in the years between Fable 1 and Fable 2 a tumultuous historical event happens and all Heroes are banished and the guild destroyed. Its a fucking reset button guys, and the cutscene when you enter it for the first time explains it all. BOOM! No need for anything from Fable 1 anymore! Except you can start with some extra items, but it doesn't matter because by the end of the game you aren't using any of them.
Just like every damn Zelda game, your feet are swept out from under you and you have to get back up.
----------------
Essentially what you guys opposed to ME2 on the PS3 are saying is you can't enjoy any sequel without playing every game that came before it in the series. That is just STUPID.Last edited by Gauss; 10-13-2009 at 05:54 PM.

you should probably read my post again before coming at me with this shit saying that i said you can't enjoy a sequel without playing the first. i have done nothing but try to push the point that ME2 will be great on ps3 without playing the first one. so don't bring your flame shit to me man because i'm on the same team as you on this one. your whole section to me from you post was pointless bitching and epic fail of a flame attempt because if you would just take the time to actually read what i posted you would see i am in agreement with you.
so to take from your own words....you just trying to flame me....
That is just STUPID

Take some of your own medicine dude, if you noticed I wasn't flaming you, I was commenting on the first part of your post.
You said it would be negative for some people, I said it would be negative for morons who think Fable 1 and Fable 2 have anything to do with each other story-wise. No where did I expand that there is anything wrong with wanting Fable 2 on the PS3.
There is nothing wrong with wanting more good games on more systems. There is something wrong with thinking gaming companies design a game to be "capped out" by the success of the first game by building it such that it is dependent on the previous game in a series.
That doesn't happen.
Hopefully my edit made this more clear.

this is why i sometimes hate fourms, text, email and any other form of conversation that is based on exchanged written word. it's so easy for people to misunderstand and or take things the wrong way. it appeared to me as if you were going on the attack to me.....so no harm no foul. at least we agree we are both on the same page now

so give us ME2 and let it be great lol

here's an update on the topic for the non retard people of the bunch.....
SOURCE
The debate of whether Mass Effect 2 is coming to the PS3 is getting rather confusing. First, GAME lists the title for PS3, followed by EA Russia (which were quick to point out that it was a mistake), which was then concluded by a comment by a BioWare rep that was rather cryptic. It doesn’t stop, however.
A keen-eyed member of PlayStation LifeStyle by the name of Morgus was quick to point out something puzzling. By purchasing the PS3 version of Dragon Age: Origins Collectors Edition on Amazon.com, it entitles the user to an unlockable item in Mass Effect 2. Whether this is a copy-and-paste situation is debatable, but it would be thought that a highly-respectable online retailer would be aware of the exclusivity of Mass Effect to Xbox 360, or be quick to fix it.
