Question about platinum trophy

Just a quick question. Do I need to purchase a DLC in order to acquire the Platinum trophy? Thank you in advance.

Nope, the DLC just adds trophies to the list. So you won't be able to get 100% without it, but they aren't required for the platinum

As Chambers said, you don't need DLC to get the Plat, even though some trophy lists (in the XMB) show the DLC added to the regular Trophy list instead of a separate one.

Pro Tip: Some DLC do make Platinums easier to get, for example the Fury DLC for WipEout HD, because it adds tracks and ships that are better than some of the original. Or Marvel vs Capcom 3's character DLC (because of the character challenges), so you have more chances to get a number of challenges if you have more to choose from.
