    Default Is Twisted Metal finally coming back?!?!?!

    Yesterday, we had reported that David Jaffe’s next game may in fact not be Twisted Metal. Instead, Jaffe made it seem as though the title could be a new IP. Considering how vocal of a fellow he is, it comes as no surprise his personal website has been updated to clarify these rumors.

    In the “What’s on Jaffe’s Brain” section of his website, Jaffe updated the area to address the Twisted Metal rumors.

    Just to be clear, I’ve never said we were or were NOT making a new Twisted Metal. Ever. But just to be 100% clear, if we were to make a new Twisted, I would consider it a reboot. The last console Twisted was 10 years ago. If we were to make a new one, we’d be starting with the assumption that no one knows what Twisted Metal is anymore and we’d have to re-earn each and every fan the series ever had. So in that sense, IF we were to ever make a new one, we’d consider it a brand new series/game/franchise.

    OMFG! I seriously hope Twisted Metal comes back, ever since the event that made them stop making them years ago I've been sad that they weren't gonna make anymore and for the Developers .. Cmon David Jaffe make us happy again with your great demolition racing game!!

    i would be excited about a reboot. Black was ok (not sure if that was the last one they made, but that was the last of the series i played), but just felt tired. if they could revamp the whole thing i could definitely get interested.

    Actually, it has not been 10 years since a console version of Twisted came out. The PS2 port of Head-On for the PSP I think in 2007.

    Wow.. lol okay..

    In 2003 they were going to make a new Twisted Metal game and it was scrapped due to the death of 6 key developers in a plane crash and didn't make another game till Head-On which wasn't that great at all, it was the attempt with the new dev's... What im trying to say when i say "Finally coming back" is to see a great title come back to the life it had before..

    Soooo.. yeah i guess welcome to a couple years ago, but like 7 or 8 years ago of the last good one... I would be love to see Twisted Metals awesomeness come back to life on the PS3.

    And what you mean thatguyintheTVR?? .. No one said anything about 10 years ago.. unless your referring to the article?
    EDIT: Nevermind, i re-read the article and see where he said 10 years ago.. lol yeah that isn't quite true lol. Hmm.. meh, all i wanna see is a good game back on track lol

    i've been playing the series since 2, and i actually felt black was a great addition due to it being more gritty, i think it would be win if they went in the same direction

    Pretty much what Jaffe said. I've only kind of heard of Twisted Metal, and I've never played it, so any continuation of a previous game wouldn't really mean much to me.

    Twisted Metal 2 was amazing. I feel sorry for you guys who missed out. Easily one of the top 5 PSX games ever made.
