ps: just in case put the saved datas in a pen. (sorry for the ingles)

upgrade hdd install on ps3
so im finally gonna do the upgrade.. ive been planning on doing for some time now, just wanted to wait for the right price on the hdd.. today i purchased it, 500gb 7200 rpm for a wopping 60 bucks
im familiar with the install.. was curious as to how many others on here have done it or are planning to do it..
my only problemo is, i hope i can still download all of my psn games to the new one like burn out paradise and if im going to lose the save file.. i heard its non transferable this true? and what others are non transferable?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the 7200 rpm will do more harm than good to your ps3. The ps3 will have to work much harder to cool the console. Sony recommend you do not go more than the 5400rpm.

FALSE! if you have "shared" anything on your ps3 from another account then it WILL carry over to the new ps3 by using a data backup. all of your save files go to. using a data backup takes all the info on the HDD as it is now and puts the excat same thing on the new HDD. i know from experience and i know for a fact what i'm saying.
FALSE! I've had nothing but great things come from my HDD since i've upgraded and to be honest i feel like large files move quicker either installing or downloading than they did before. as long as your ps3 is in a well vented area like it should be to begin with then you're fine.

I'm not saying that breaking your PS3 is a small gamble. I'm saying that upgrading to a 7200rpm drive is a small gamble as there is a small, a very small cance you can fuck it up. But like Johnny_Sparx said keep it in a well vented area and you should be fine. I would also take care to monitor your PS3's temperature just to be safe.

perfect thanx guys.. for the info.. and updates.. i see you have all experienced good things from the upgrade.. im looking forward to it for multiple reasons data tranfer speed up time is one.. as well as alot more space to be free to new options..
so basically on all my psn games as long as i do the back up.. and then re dl from psn store and over copy the .dat files after i should be fine on all psn dl's? correct?
that was all i was reall worried about never 100% burn out i plat and im at i believe 76% so just in case down the line i wanted to go back and complete 100% it wasnt far off you know..
