Isn't Def Jam generally regarded as being pretty awful?
Also, does Fiddy: Blood on the Sand count as a hip-hop game?

omg all of these were great games! especially Fight for NY. I wasnt a big fan of the Icon controls with the whole scratching and analog baloney. But sure they were all good games! Icon was one of the first games on my ps3

Well, as far as my experience can tell (and as far as the videogame community as a whole can tell), this games suck balls lol. They can hardly be called "hipo-hop games". They are just cheap fighting games with some rappers who signed to Def Jam and got a palce in the videogame.
A real "Hip-Hop game" would be DJ Hero.

In terms of fighters, the first two were ok, hell vendetta was good. but Icon... that was a huge turd bobbing in the sea of fighters.

The only game that could be considered Hip-Hop that I can think of right now is DJ Hero.. fighting games don't qualify as real Hip-Hop games.
Street fights =/= Hip-Hop

Mark Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure on the PS2 is about the only game that succesfully incorporates some of hip hop's culture without making the game entirely about something else (Def Jam = Fighting, Blood In The Sand = Shooting, NBA Ballers = Balling). There's not really any games that you could describe as being solely a hip hop game. I fucking love hip hop, but I can't see any development companies making a game where you're objective is to spit some rhymes, get a deal and blow up on stage. Doesn't translate to good gameplay imo. But I'm happy for David Cage or Tim Schafer to give it a try.
Try 'Afro Samurai' on for size though. Pretty derivative slash em up, but the soundtrack is dope.

Sorry but san an is not a hip hop game.
Under pressure, like said i before, is the only real "hip hop" game out there. I hate using the term hip hop game, hip hop should NEVER be put in game form.
Wu tang and under pressure are the two best.

You're a poser. Guitar Hero is still a music game (mostly rock) so it is a rock game, no matter of how much of a bad one it may be.
You say DJ Hero isn't a Hip-Hop game yet you say Def Jam is? Hip-Hop is consisted of MC-in, DJ-in, B-Boyin, and Graffiti.
Hip-Hop as itself has NOTHING to do with fighting. Therefore your sir, are a poser. Gather some knowledge before you speak on something you only have a mainstream grip on.
