    Default PlayStation Store Update Day Changing This May

    While browsing the PlayStation Blog this fine Sunday afternoon, I just so happened to stumble across an article that seemed to fly under our radar earlier on this week regarding an impending PlayStation Store update day date change.

    If you're sick of having to wait a day longer than your Xbox compadres for your PlayStation Store content, this May that is set to change.

    According to SCEE's Mike Kebby, who was responding to the following question, "Thursday publishes continue for a few more weeks, then from the start of May we start publishing on a Wednesday." Did you mean just Firstplay, or the entire Store publishing?"

    Kebby commented, "Entire store publishing, more info in the coming weeks."

    While that only applies to the European store, according to Pulse's host, Christina Lee, the US PS Store update will soon take place on a Tuesday... one day before Xbox Live and their European counterparts

    It doesn't really matter to me, but for Sony, it's a good business move. This puts them ahead of XBOX Live's updates and for people who really want to get their stuff faster, they'll get it a day earlier on PSN and it will encourage them to buy it on PSN rather than on XBL. Not that most people consciously think about that, but it will provide a small boost to PSN downloads per week
