I love playing for plats, but there are times when I don't feel like playing a certain game anymore. Usually getting a bronze inspires me to finish it.![]()

i dont care about plats
i dont care about plats, is there somthin wrong with me?i have 1 plat which is burnout. im maybe 4 or 5 bronzes away from another 3 plats, AC 2,Dead Space, gow 2 but im just not that bothered! you get plats as nothing more than a consequence of getting the rest and most of the time its a bronze or silver you need to get it. youll spend hours doin the same thing over and over and over again, somthin you would never normally do(unless youre leveling up),just to get it!
golds are worth more to me,theres even a few silvers am proud of.......or am i wrong?

Blasphemer! Jk, there's plenty of games that I've put on indefinite hold to play something new. It takes a special kind of game to make we want the plat badly enough. Though some games are beyond my skill level.
I no longer have the reaction times to beat 3D Dot Game Heroes' dash circuit, so no plat for me.

i like to play for plats , but having to play online mp or grind just seems silly to me and i dont care to have plats if it means i have to be bored playing a game. i can easily pass them up *looks over at modnation racers*

I don't play specifically for platinums but it feels good when one pops up though.

I like to finish things in general but some games have unrealistic expectations. Like Farcry 2 for instance. I got all the offline trophies and declared myself owner of a pseudoplat. No need to put 100 hours into silliness. On the other hand I've found myself playing RDR online alot lately and getting to level 50 seems like something that won't only occur naturally but that I'll probably surpass and keep playing.
In the end a plat makes you get the most out of a great game or to much out of a bad one. Somehow either way you get more bang for your buck I guess. The hardest trophies in a game definitely mean more to me then the platinum though.

i don't care for plats either. I'm very close to the ACII plat (94% complete) but i don't really care about it. Plats are just kinda an extar reward for beating a game.

Plats aren't the thing I pay attention to most.If there's a plat that I could get rather easily or quickly,I'll try to get it.

I don't have any plats and doubt I ever will unless the game offers a super-easy plat, lol.
Although, I am only one trophy away from platting Tekken 6. I just need the Machine Crusher trophy.

I'll have to respectfully disagree. I buy a game for the enjoyment, but since I first started playing Metroid so many years ago, the whole "100% complete" deal is a big thing for me. I still play only games I know I'll probably enjoy... but there's something about getting that next plat that makes it all feel worth my while. I don't buy a game for its plat... but I will play the game until I DO plat. I just can't stand not 100% completing a game. It's just that much of a deal to me.

glad to hear im not the only one. i think skill level might be a consideration for me aswell. i very rarely,if ever, play a game on hard which automatically rules out a lot of plats. i play a game for the game itself.......although a wouldnt mind a couple of more plats but i wont be playin hannah fuckin montana to get one!

I dont think its something wrong with you..!!!You are just from another planet..Thats ok

Just kidding..Since you are gaming for your fun and you are having fun with what you are doing , then nothing's wrong..
That's uniqueness...

This site is dedicated to Trophies and the biggest of them all is the Platinum. I understand what you're saying, but I love going for the Plat.

i like playing for plats...it makes me feels like i'm getting my money's worth for the game.
it doesn't make sense to me to buy a game, and just play through the story, when there is still tons more you can do.

You brought up 1 good point, getting that 100% and now being able to back it up. I remember as a kid we would all brag about beating Akuma in Street Fighter or beating Castlevania back then was just having to take your friends word. Even more recently, a friend of mine who told me he completed the challenges for God Of War 1 and 2 on the PS2, yet he would never load up his game file to prove it. Now he's got it on PS3 and it does back up any sort of smack talk you can give about doing something in a certain game.
BTW, he hasn't gotten to gold trophies for the GOW challenges yet.

The only plat I'm going for is borderlands which is an amazing game, I don't care much for plats or trophies. I usually don't care about them unless it's a hard one.

do have only 1-2 of my 25+ games that i will probly not finish... And those are Bioshock2 and FF13. Both req ALOT of crap grinding and idk if i can deal with it. I thought some others were bad but not unbearable. Games like RDR make a plat seem easy! I have it and will be going back for the DLC thats on the way cuz the game is great on its own!
